Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 26, 2007 -- MC Strategies, Inc., a leader in e-learning solutions for healthcare professionals, today announced the launch of an exciting new, online course developed in collaboration with Tener Goodwin Veenema, PhD, MPH, MS, CPNP.

ReadyRN: Disaster Nursing and Emergency Preparedness Online Course was written by Dr. Veenema, an internationally renowned disaster nursing and emergency preparedness expert. Consisting of 25 online modules, this comprehensive, competency-based course is consistent with FEMA's all-hazards approach, the National Response Plan, and the National Incident Management System.

ReadyRN includes a variety of fun, interactive activities, such as matching, fill-in-the-blank, and case studies that provide immediate feedback and rationales for correct and incorrect responses. In addition, nurses have an opportunity to earn 23.5 continuing nursing education contact hours.*

"ReadyRN is for use by nurses in any type of healthcare organization and prepares them for all types of natural and man-made disasters," said Cindy Tryniszewski, RN, MSN, Director, Nursing e-Learning, MC Strategies. "Being prepared helps nurses develop their critical disaster management competencies and enhances their personal safety awareness and understanding."

"Natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and public health emergencies threaten the safety of nurses and their patients and families. ReadyRN provides our nation's nurses with the knowledge and skills they need to respond in a timely and appropriate manner, and keep themselves and their patients safe. ReadyRN will make every nurse a prepared nurse," said Tener Goodwin Veenema.
