One Woman's Courage Exposes Corporate Corruption in Thrilling Read
Jack Eadon's suspenseful novel "The Armstrong Solution" pits an inquisitive up-and-coming female marketing executive against her greedy male colleagues in an extreme case of corporate deception, featuring criminally addictive fast food.
Tustin, CA (PRWEB) May 28, 2007 -- With very public corporate fiascoes such as the Enron scandal dominating news headlines in today's world, corporate corruption has not only become a hot topic, but an everyday reality. In fact, the plot of Jack Eadon's novel "The Armstrong Solution" (ISBN 097-5330012, Eloquence Press) may even sound plausible to many readers, which makes for an all the more exciting read.
The star of "The Armstrong Solution" is Kathy Armstrong, a marketing manager with a new job at Pepe's Café, a major fast food company. The insatiable corporate executives of Pepe's Café have set unrealistic financial objectives, and the villainous CEO is overeager to meet profit goals. He conspires with an illicit hot sauce supplier in Mexico, determined to find an addictive product to guarantee customer loyalty.
The snappy, fast-paced plot thickens when Kathy becomes suspicious as consumer deaths rise along with extraordinary sales. Curious, she travels to the hot sauce plant in Mexico, where she unexpectedly finds a co-worker being held hostage. After being taken hostage herself, Kathy must put her creative and resourceful capabilities to work and find a way to expose the wrongdoings within the corporate hierarchy of Pepe's Cafe, before her malevolent CEO manages to leave the county.
Kathy's character was inspired by Eadon's wife, a real-life marketing executive at a major fast food company. The premise for "The Armstrong Solution" actually came from her experience at a meeting Eadon's wife once had, where colleagues "joked about addicting their consuming public as a way to make an unrealistic corporate plan," Eadon says. For fans of Eadon's "American Drama Series," the "The Armstong Solution" is the sequel and parallel book to "Latent Image," a novel told in the same "story time" from Kathy's ex-husband, except from Marcus Ramsay's point of view.
"The Armstrong Solution" paints a vivid and realistic picture of corporate corruption, strengthened by Eadon and his wife's own experiences within the corporate world, where competition and a desire to get ahead are prevalent. Kathy is no exception, as she struggles to rise above the arrogant, male-dominated corporation. Her attempts to break through this deceitful glass ceiling in Eadon's perfectly cinematic story will hold readers captivated in suspense all the way to the surprising and unpredictable grand finale. The epilogue is even better and closes the novel in a wonderfully quiet, but satisfying, way.
