Toronto (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- On Monday, June 4th, 2007 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, March of Dimes Canada will be presenting the 2nd Annual Ability and Beyond Gala Dinner, A Royal Evening, and will feature its honoured guest, HRH The Princess Royal.
The Princess Royal, daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, is the President of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, one of the largest providers of comprehensive carergiver support services in the UK. A passionate advocate for caregivers, The Princess Royal will be participating in this very special event honouring the essential role that informal caregivers play in society.
The annual dinner is held to support March of Dimes Canada's programs for people with physical disabilities. A private reception for Patrons, sponsors and major donors will be held, sponsored by sanofi pasteur, prior to the dinner.
As the Canadian public begins to deal with the implications of an aging population, the need for March of Dimes Canada's services will become even greater. Every baby-boomer is potentially affected by the situation of aging parents or the late-life changes they may be personally experiencing.
This year's Ability and Beyond Gala Dinner theme is a lead-in to FICCDAT - the Festival of International Conferences on Caregiving, Aging and Technology taking place June 16th to 19th. March of Dimes Canada is co-hosting FICCDAT, an event bringing together five concurrent conferences focused on enhancing the lives of seniors, persons with disabilities and their family caregivers.
Anne-Marie and Robert Canning are the Dinner Sponsors and Chairs. John C. Eaton and Sally Horsfall Eaton and the Honourable David R. Peterson and Shelley Peterson are the Gala Patrons. An octet from the National Youth Orchestra of Canada will be on-hand to entertain guests and Leslie Roberts, Global TV Co-Anchor of The News Hour and on-air personality with CFRB 1010 will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Gala Tickets are $500 each and include entrance to the Gala reception and dinner. Patron Tickets are $1000 each and include the private reception with The Princess Royal.
