Vibe Vixen and Girlfriends Creator Mara Brock Akil Host Star-Studded Opening of Revival Vintage

Vibe Vixen and GIRLFRIENDS creator Mara Brock Akil joined a bevy of celebrities in celebrating the opening of Revival, a funky glam vintage boutique in Sherman Oaks, California on May 24, 2007.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- Vibe Vixen and GIRLFRIENDS creator Mara Brock Akil joined a bevy of celebrities in celebrating the opening of Revival, a funky glam vintage boutique in Sherman Oaks, California on May 24, 2007.

The store, which was created by Nicole Swasey--a Los Angeles native, and former child actress best known for playing Lisa Hayes, Gary Coleman's arch-nemesis for four seasons on Different Strokes, and who later became an Assistant Director-- boasts a collection, mostly from the 50's through 80s era, including designer dresses and bags; coats; delicate sweaters and tops; jewelry; and, fun shoes and hats. Most of the store's décor is also for sale.

Some of the celebrities attending the event include: Tia Mowry (The Game) ; Shondrella Avery (Napoleon Dynamite, Cuts, Domino) ; Shawn Robinson (Access Hollywood), and Ananda Lewis (The Insider, MTV) and more.

Guests attending the party sipped champagne, and enjoyed appetizers from top-notch Beverly Hills restaurant Crustacean, while shopping for unique pieces. My goal for this event was to introduce my friends, and neighbors to Revival. It's been a dream of mine for years to create an elegant space where locals could come in and pick up unique pieces I carefully selected for the store," says Nicole.

Revival is located at 13940 Ventura Boulevard, in Sherman Oaks, California, between Stern and Hazeltine. Store hours are 11 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday; 11am to 6 pm Saturdays, and closed Sundays.
