International 450 Association Holds Plenary #7 In Cancun, Mexico
The IA450 Plenary meetings provide a forum for 450 operators to meet with regulators and manufacturers of 450 equipment to exchange first hand experiences.
Cancun, Mexico (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- The International 450 Association (IA 450), a non profit international organization for the promotion of CDMA2000® utilization in the 450 MHz band (CDMA450®), held its Plenary #7 in Cancun, Mexico. The meeting was held immediately after the 3G CDMA Latin American Regional Conference organized by CDMA Development Group and endorsed by IA 450. Telefonos de Mexico ( TELMEX ) hosted the Conference.
The Plenary meetings provide a forum for prospective new members to meet existing operators and regulators and discuss their CDMA450 network deployment experience first hand. Attendees had an opportunity to participate in working groups for their input on roaming, handset and products & services requirements as well as regulatory challenges to help pave the way for their own deployment.
Four new members were accepted during Plenary #7. New CDMA450 operator members included Cooperativa Telefonica de Calafate Limitada (COTECAL) from Argentina, Empresa Hondurena de Telecomunicaciones (HONDUTEL) from Honduras, Telefonos de Mexico (TELMEX) from Mexico and Mobilkom from Czech Republic. In addition a new vendor member was accepted, Amphenol Antel, Inc. from USA. The members also elected a new chair, Tina Radford from operator Zapp Romania, and paid tribute to the outgoing chair Vadim Belyavskiy for the work and commitment he has contributed to the IA 450 over the past two years.
The next IA450 Plenary will be held in Lisbon, Portugal in October 2007, and will showcase the CDMA450 network operated by IA 450 member Radiomovile under the Zapp brand name.
