Alsbridge Inc. Announces Appointment of Eric Smith as Managing Partner
Outsourcing Executive to Lead New Private Equity Business
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 29, 2007 -- Alsbridge announced today that outsourcing and business services executive Eric T. Smith has joined Alsbridge as Managing Partner of Alsbridge Private Equity. In this role, Mr. Smith leads the global private equity business for Alsbridge that encompasses both advisory services and direct investment.
Mr. Smith's executive roles in business services and payments have spanned start-ups and billion-dollar publicly traded companies in both Europe and the USA. He has consulted extensively to private equity firms in outsourcing and business services. Through 2005, Eric served as CEO of the $400 million public sector business of Liberata PLC, a BPO provider in the UK. Previously, he was Group COO of the nearly $500 million business. Prior to Liberata, Eric was the founding CEO of BillingZone LLC, a US-based provider of e-payment services to Fortune 500 companies and their trading partners. In late 2002, he sold this business to First Data Corporation, the world's largest payment processor.
Before BillingZone, Mr. Smith spent six years based in London at Perot Systems Corporation's Global Financial Services group, where he led worldwide business development efforts and was a member of the company's European Management Board. At Perot Systems, he was a member of the 5-person deal team that forged a $6 billion, 25 year strategic technology alliance with Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) - then the largest outsourcing deal to date.
Mr. Smith was an Investment Officer at the Czech American Enterprise Fund in Prague and a Manager and Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse in Atlanta. Eric holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard University. His community activities have included a seat on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
