Latrobe, PA (PRWEB) May 31, 2007 -- Jerry Salandro, President and Chief Executive Officer of IRIS Technologies and President and Chief Executive Offices of Landro, Inc. will deliver the commencement address at the graduation ceremonies of the Greater Latrobe Senior High School at 7:30 pm on June 1 at Latrobe High School. Mr. Salandro's address will focus on the importance of values in our personal and public lives and on sound principles of success.

"Today our society is driven more by the cult of personality than by one's character," he said. "The priority in America today focuses on how to win friends and influence people and how to have a positive, mental attitude. But I suggest that emphasizing personality over character is a misplaced priority. Our true priority should rest on principles like honesty, integrity, and hard work. These principles are universal, are shared by people the world over, and bind us together."

According to Mr. Salandro, two rules of becoming successful stand out above others. First, be grateful. Always thank people. We never get to where we are through our own efforts alone, but through hundreds of people came before us to make our world a better place. Many died to protect the life we all now enjoy. A grandfather, a grandmother, an aunt and uncle, people who treated you and loved you as if you where their son or daughter. A mom, a dad who worked hard so you could have the best, a life better than theirs, a teacher, a coach, a mentor who encouraged you and gave of their time to you.

Second, do unto others what you would have them do unto you. Instead of worrying about becoming successful, focus on becoming significant for others and helping them become successful. If we all thought that way all the time, what a difference we would make in the lives of others and in ourselves.
