ING DIRECT Honored for Innovative Marketing Campaigns
Nation's largest direct bank wins awards for its First-Time Homebuyers web site
and Chicago "Cash Cow" Marketing Events
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- ING DIRECT, the nation's largest direct bank, is the recipient of two major awards for its innovative, strategic marketing campaigns. The American Advertising Federation (AAF) is honoring ING DIRECT with a 2007 Gold ADDY® Award in Advertising for its "MoveOutMoveUp.com -- First Time Home Buyer" online campaign. ING DIRECT has also earned a "Marketer of the Year" Award in Experiential Marketing from the American Marketing Association's Philadelphia chapter for its "Chicago Cash Cow" consumer brand experience events.
"The goal of our marketing campaigns is to ensure our brand stands apart from other banks," said John Owens, head of Marketing, ING DIRECT. "It's always great to be recognized by the advertising community for our creative approach to spreading the word about ING DIRECT."
ING DIRECT will receive an ADDY for its 2006 launch of MoveOutMoveUp.com, which uses unique content, video clips, games and a hidden incentive to attract potential first-time home buyers. The site pokes fun at the frustrating side of renting, while offering insight into achieving an affordable mortgage. With more than 57,000 other entries, the ADDY is the largest, most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide. Of the 2007 finalists, 1,537 were professional entries, resulting in 119 Gold and 150 Silver ADDYs and four Special Judges Awards. The ADDY Awards will be presented during the AAF National Conference 2007 in Louisville, Kentucky on June 9th.
ING DIRECT was honored in the category of Experiential Marketing for a series of savings events in Chicago that featured orange-clad "Cash Cows" who offered free parking, free coffee and free lunch to consumers in September 2006. The events resulted in high brand awareness and a customer increase of more than 340 percent. The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Marketing Association recognized the wealth of innovative marketing accomplished by advertisers and agencies in Greater Philadelphia with their annual event held on May 17, 2007.
