On Tuesday, May 29, Total Divorce matched all donations made during the first day of Blog Catalog's revolutionary effort to use social media to raise funds for charity. As of Tuesday evening, the Blog Catalog challenge at Donors Choose had already benefitted 884 students and provided more than 2,000 hours of instruction and homework materials, and the challenge isn't over yet.
(PRWEB) May 31, 2007 -- On Tuesday, Total Divorce joined in Blog Catalog's groundbreaking effort to raise funds for schoolchildren across the country through blogging and social media. Hundreds of bloggers posted calls for donations to Donors Choose, an organization that allows public school teachers to submit proposals for supplies, special projects, field trips, and teaching materials their budgets can't support.
As of Tuesday evening, the Blog Catalog challenge had reached 884 students at various schools across the country and provided 2,373 hours of instruction and homework material, according to Donor's Choose. The Total Divorce contribution closed out one teacher's proposal and brought another proposal to 98% completion, but there are still many valuable projects to be funded.
