ITIL V3 Adds Lifecycle Savvy and Business Strategy

Eracent Inc. confirmed that its suite of IT Asset Management products address the new ITIL v3 requirements. The services lifecycle introduced in ITIL v3 added to the existing process focus of ITIL v2 enhances the collaboration with ITAM solutions. The extensive data requirements and business analysis of ITIL v3 are enabled by ITAM solutions such as Eracent's suite.

Ottsville, PA (PRWEB) June 7, 2007 -- Eracent Inc., a worldwide IT asset management solutions provider and leader in automation methodologies for managing the lifecycle of IT assets, confirmed that its suite of products address the new capabilities introduced in ITIL v3 this week. The new structure for ITIL v3 enhances the collaboration between IT asset management and implementation of the ITIL model.

ITIL, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, the most widely accepted approach to IT service management has added a service lifecycle focus as well as a business perspective to the approach. ITIL v3 makes it easier to address specific vertical markets and industries (e.g. public sector, financial services) and provides a venue for more rapidly changing guidance around the application and implementation of the best practice described in the core works.

Eracent's suite of products automates processes, develops data linkages and repositories that are required in order to implement the ITIL approach.

"ITAM solutions with automation of processes and development of rich, reliable data on IT assets were very helpful to organizations when they were implementing earlier versions of ITIL," said Walter Szablowski, president of Eracent, Inc. "The new ITIL version requires the extensive asset data that IT asset management provides, branching out to supplier management, ROI and other business objectives when designing and setting strategy for services. Solutions like Eracent's suite of products already provide the information necessary to answer these new improvements."

The lifecycle approach to service management provides a framework for the collaboration of many systems and sources of information in order to continually improve the value of the services delivered. "There is a clear path to build services based on customer needs in ITIL v3. IT asset management is the best way to quantify these needs and support the decision making process," Szablowski stated.
