Soboba Ranch Builds Field of Dreams

With four spanking new NCAA-regulation softball fields, a major league worthy baseball diamond and electronic scoreboards, the Soboba Movie Ranch is hoping both Hollywood and independent filmmakers will come.

If a film has a sports theme, we can probably accommodate it

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) June 1, 2007 -- From Bull Durham to Field of Dreams to The Natural, the sport of baseball has always been able to produce iconic moments of movie magic. Now, thanks the recent completion of a major softball and baseball complex, Soboba Movie Ranch, a unique filming location located in Riverside County at the base of California's Mt. Jacinto, is ready to add to this all-star roster.

The new complex features four softball fields that meet the NCAA Women's specifications and a professional-scale baseball field, complete with regulation pitcher's mound and 90-foot base paths. The infields are crushed brick clay, while the outfields feature green artificial turf. Each field has massive electronic scoreboards, along with parking, bleacher stands, snack bars and restrooms.

"If a film has a sports theme, we can probably accommodate it," explains John Culton, Chairman of FilmStew.com, which is handling the marketing and promotion of Soboba Movie Ranch to Hollywood. "Currently, we have a championship golf course, boxing facilities, cage fighting, an all-purpose arena, a regulation football field with home and visitor stands; plus unbelievable softball and baseball facilities."

"The ranch is the perfect filming solution," he continues. "It's owned by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, so there is no permit red tape, and both Soboba Casino and Soboba Springs Country Club are adjacent. The facilities, the vistas and the topography are very diverse."

"For example, this past February, the Arena Football team the Los Angeles Avengers used the movie ranch as their training camp. The complex is very flexible with its facilities and services."

The Soboba Movie Ranch is part of The Oaks Retreat and Conference Center and is able to accommodate both day filming and extended shooting schedules. The ranch can also provide overnight accommodations for approximately 50 guests, should a filmmaker or TV director need to keep their crew close by, as well as handle craft service. Those food services can be custom-tailored, spanning everything from cafeteria style to traditional craft service to outdoor dining and BBQs.
