Shine Magazine Hires Industry Veteran Dahlia Jean Weinstein as Editor-In-Chief

On the heels of a cash infusion, Bloom Media looks to well-known columnist to spearhead editorial content for Denver's premiere luxury lifestyle magazine

Denver, Colo. (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Shine magazine, Denver's premiere luxury lifestyle publication, announced today the hire of local industry veteran Dahlia Jean Weinstein as editor-in-chief. Weinstein, who has served as the Rocky Mountain News society columnist for the past seven years, will join the publication for its August launch and will be the driving force behind the upscale magazine's editorial vision.

Shine, which will publish six times annually beginning in August, is poised to serve as Colorado's supreme luxury lifestyle magazine highlighting the Mile High City's thriving industries in fashion, style & beauty; architecture & design; arts & entertainment; dining & nightlife; travel & leisure; society & celebrity culture; and more - subjects that hit home with Denver's urbane population. Weinstein's unique experience and unparalleled sensibilities for such topics will be invaluable in creating a magazine that is not only avant-garde, but also engaging and relevant to Coloradoans.

Weinstein's hire comes on the heels of a major private cash infusion for Bloom Media, LLC, the publishing house behind Shine. As such, well-known local photographer Marc Piscotty has also been added to the already talented production staff for Shine. Coincidentally, Piscotty's former experience also includes tenure at the Rocky Mountain News. The combined expertise of Weinstein and Piscotty, in addition to the superb design team, will make Shine not only editorially superior, but visually stunning as well.

"After a couple of years in the planning stages, it is extremely exciting to see Shine become a reality," publisher and CEO Zac Folk stated. "Denver is a booming city and our cultural and social scenes are among the nation's best. The need for a luxury publication to showcase what we have in our own backyard is paramount, and we're thrilled to be able to finally deliver on this concept," he finished.

Shine will be filled with oversized, beautiful pages that engage, enlighten and entertain Denver's upscale and stylish crowd. The magazine will also include the same quality-driven content readers came to know and enjoy in Bloom, the publisher's first title focusing exclusively on Colorado's beauty industry. Bloom will now be merged under the Shine name and will be the platform for the magazine's fashion and beauty category.

"It was only natural to fuse Bloom and Shine into one comprehensive magazine. With one publication, we can focus our energies and produce a high quality product that delivers the best of beauty but also encompasses the other timely and relevant topics that our readers and advertisers were asking for," Folk said. "And with Dahlia's talent, vision and influence, the magazine is sure to be among the nation's most cutting-edge and appealing city publications," he continued.

Weinstein's journalism career, which began as an associate editor for two high-end glossy magazines in Miami, Florida before transitioning to Denver and a daily newspaper, is legendary in Denver and as one of the city's best-known and respected columnists, is a perfect match for a publication like Shine.

"The opportunity to create a magazine that celebrates the city and state I have come to love and call home is one I could not pass up," Weinstein commented. "I am eager to give readers a unique perspective on Denver's luxury lifestyle and showcase all of the incredible things Colorado has to offer," she finished.

Shine will make its debut this August with a fall issue and will publish bi-monthly thereafter. For more information, please visit www.ShineColorado.com.
