In this interview Mrs. Margrit Mondavi talked to ART+ about her interests in art, music and culture and the upcoming Summer Jazz Festival at the Robert Mondavi Winery, which begins June 30th, 2007

Davis, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2007 -- Mrs. Margrit Mondavi talked about some of the art and music programs she introduced at the Robert Mondavi Winery. She talked about how she expanded the Winery's art collection to include sculptures by Beniamino Bufano and other famous artists from California and from around the world.

Mrs. Mondavi's interest in good food and fine wines led to introducing the Executive Chef Classes at the Robert Mondavi Winery. She recently introduced TAST3: Art Music, Food series at the Winery. Mrs. Mondavi believes that good food and wine are important because, she said. 'important events in our lives are celebrated around dinner tables.'

She created a showplace for painters, sculptors, photographers, jazz and classical musicians and the great chefs and winemakers of the world.
In this interview, Mrs. Mondavi discussed her cookbook Annie and Margrit which she co-wrote with her daughter, Annie who was Executive Chef at the Robert Mondavi Winery. The book contains many of their favourite recipes and menus and it received the 2003 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

Mr. Robert Mondavi described Margrit Mondavi's work to introduce art and music at the winery by: "She created a showplace for painters, sculptors, photographers, jazz and classical musicians and the great chefs and winemakers of the world."

In this interview, Mrs. Mondavi talked about some of the Mondavi family's past and future philanthropic plans that relate to art and education at UCDavis. She is very proud of the Art Department and Wine School at UCDavis, and believes that UCDavis is an excellent University. Margrit Mondavi is also very proud of their work as founding patrons of COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts, in Napa.

This interview includes segments by Mr. Wayne Thiebaud who exhibited at the Winery, is Professor Emeritus, UCDavis and is a friend of Mrs. Mondavi; Mr. Ben Jaffe from Preservation Hall Jazz Band who always open the Summer Jazz Festival at the Winery; Mr. John Bonick , California painter whom we interviewed during his show's opening at the Mondavi Winery.
