Gaslight Landing Model Home Under Construction in Historic Occoquan, Virginia
Historic downtown Occoquan is the location for 20 luxury waterfront townhomes; unique features include deeded boat slips, individual elevators and proximity to Washington DC. Only two of the 10 Phase I homes remain to be sold.
Occoquan, VA (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Mark Granville-Smith and Bob Hagel, developers of Gaslight Landing in historic Occoquan, Virginia, have announced they have only two homes remaining to sell in Phase One of the Gaslight Landing development. According to the developers, Phase One is expected to be complete in late summer. The 10 homes in Phase Two will begin selling when the model is under roof and will begin construction this summer. The homes are being built on the downtown waterfront property between the Occoquan Inn and Mamie Davis Park.
"We're looking forward to unveiling the model home, which will provide luxury small-town living in an historic setting close to Washington DC," said Granville-Smith, chairman of the board and chief operating officer of Classic Concept Builders and a partner in the project. "The construction of the development's riverwalk -- an extension of the town's riverwalk -- along the Occoquan River was just completed.
"The town houses will have approximately 2,600 to 2,800 square feet of heated living area with 9-foot ceilings on the first floor and a total of more than 3,600 square feet of covered area when you include the parking level and balconies," said Hagel. "Each three-level home has its own elevator, and there is parking for three cars beneath each home."
The homes all come with a deeded 40-foot deepwater boat slip. "You can cruise the Potomac River to Washington DC or the Chesapeake Bay from your private slip, walk to restaurants, shops and art galleries, or just relax on one of your balconies and enjoy the view.
In an effort to maintain historic accuracy, Hagel and Granville-Smith worked with architectural consultant Robert Schweitzer, an author and professor of historic architecture and colors at the University of Michigan, who reviewed the exterior designs, then selected exterior colors and roofing patterns. This effort contributed to the approval of the project by the Town of Occoquan and the Occoquan Architectural Review Board.
The Gaslight Landing web site offers a unique view of the development from the river. An artist's rendering of the project's riverfront has been superimposed on a photo taken from the same perspective, providing a view of the development in the actual context of the town. The front and rear views of the townhomes, along with floor plans and a site map, can be viewed at http://www.gaslightlanding.com.
