Logistics and Environment Debate - Final Speaker Line-up

The final speaker has been announced for the 5th Annual Logistics debate, organised by Scala Logistics Consulting in association with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The latest speaker to be announced is Terry Murphy, Distribution Director of Dixons Stores Group. The debate subject is "Will Environmental Issues Force Us To Think The Unthinkable?" and it addresses a major concern which has moved right up the agenda of most companies and has lead to the boardroom putting pressure on logisticians to move to 'green logistics'.

(PRWEB) June 7, 2007 -- The final speaker has been announced for the 5th Annual Logistics debate, organised by Scala Logistics Consulting in association with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The latest speaker to be announced is Terry Murphy, Distribution Director of Dixons Stores Group.

The debate subject is "Will Environmental Issues Force Us To Think The Unthinkable?" and it addresses a major concern which has moved right up the agenda of most companies and has lead to the boardroom putting pressure on logisticians to move to 'green logistics'.

The debate takes place on the evening of July 12th at Wroxall Abbey near Coventry. The evening is also a great social and networking opportunity.

Mr Perry believes that many companies have for decades been doing all the wrong things from an environmental point of view. "The driving factors were reduced costs and increased efficiency. While they have been successful at this, the environmental impact has been largely ignored. Responsibility for this lies mainly with senior management who until recently have shown no great interest in the need for green logistics".
