Literacy Start-up Without Boundaries

MaestroReading.com receives a warm welcome at the 52nd Annual International Reading Association Conference.

Toronto, ON, Canada (PRWEB) June 6, 2007

May 14-16 marked a new milestone for MeastroReading.com (http://www.maestroreading.com) as the start-up was enthusiastically received at their first International Reading Association (IRA) conference on literacy. Potential for partnerships, advice from exhibit veterans and pats on the back for a job well done are some of the things that the small team came away with.

The 52nd IRA Annual Convention, (http://www.reading.org), attended by exhibitors, educators, reading specialists, researchers and publishers from all over the world, is dedicated to propagating up to date research, encouraging quality reading instruction and practices, and encouraging communication and collaboration between literacy professionals.

This year's convention, themed "Literacy Without Boundaries", offered workshops and conference on various themes including the ever-present emergence and importance of technology in the classroom. Appropriately, MaestroReading.com is a research-based literacy internet portal, providing precisely the educational and entertaining solutions that educators need. The solutions offered are designed for mixed ability classrooms, ELL and special education students; specifically, children with dyslexia.

In preparation for its official September launch, MaestroReading.com is offering a range of free resources, including an adaptive non-fiction text about Leonardo da Vinci, as well as several interactive learning games that focus on discrete elements of the reading process. The MaestroReading team is currently beta-testing the software in a number of schools falling under the umbrella of the English Montreal School Board, while offering its services for free to convention members, parents, educators and students all over North America.

In September, MaestroReading.com will be run on a subscription basis to educational institutions and home-users, while continuing to offer various services, such as a diagnostic tool for pre-readers, information on the reading process and a comprehensive list of other literacy resources, for free.
