(PRWEB) June 6, 2007 -- Iverson wore the "Dunkadelic" shoe for Michael Jordan's last played NBA game in 2003. The "Basketball and Hip-Hop" culture fusion created in 1984 is being called The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America, and the term is seeking to become first dunk definition applied to American English dictionary since 'dunk shot' in 1967.

During the year of 1997, a one-word term was created that was inspired by the cultural surroundings that defined the combination of basketball and hip-hop in America. The Dunkadelic terminology would become the first dunk definition since 'dunk-shot' in 1967, the first dunk adjective referring to a player by position (dunkadelic-swingman, dunkadelic-power forward), the "Name of the shoe worn by Allen Iverson for Michael Jordans' last played NBA game" in April 2003, and the head-line title of a basketball magazine dedicated to dunks and dunker's (NBA Inside Stuff Special Collector's Edition Dunkadelic Issue).

Dunkadelic (adj.) the fusion of "basketball and hip-hop" inspired by the cultural aesthetics of urban style, fashion, and attitude. highlight dunks or dunkers to music or rap lyrics.

Dunkadelic Terminology 10-Year Time-line:

1997 -- Dunkadelic term was created after a slam dunk by Ron Mercer from the University of Kentucky.

1998 -- The first recorded day of use (September 8) for the term on clothing. Mark McGwire of the St. Louis Cardinals would break the 37-year home run record of 61 set by Roger Maris in 1961. McGwire would hit his 62nd home run on this same day.

2001 -- The term would be first used by sports columnists Tom Kertes of Basketball Digest, "Adam Hall of Virginia the dunkadelic-swingman."

2002 -- Reebok announced that Dunkadelic would be name of a new basketball shoe line (ATR Dunkadelic).

2002 -- Tom Kertes of nyknicks.com wrote after the 2002 NBA Draft trade that "Antonio MyDyess and Chris Wilcox were both dunkadelic-power forwards."

2002 -- Tom Kertes of nyknicks.com wrote "dunkadelic almost rookie of the year guard Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors (2-time Slam Dunk Champion) was in the house at the Entertainer's Basketball Classic in Harlem.

2002 -- Merriam-Webster dictionary would start a file for the Dunkadelic terminology.

2003 -- The ATR Dunkadelic shoe would be featured in various magazine print ads (ESPN the Magazine, Dime, SLAM, The Source, and XXL). Rap star Jay-Z would use some of his lyrics from the popular Blueprint 2 CD during a nationwide television commercial.

2003 -- NBA Street Volume 2 the computer game was described by Todd Zuniga of Tech-TV " it's dunkadelic, it's phat, it's frezzesh."

2003 -- Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers would wear the ATR Dunkadelic shoe for Michael Jordans' last played NBA game on April 16, 2003. Iverson would score 35 points in a 107-87 victory.

2004 -- Dunkadelic would be the headline title for the NBA Inside Stuff Special Collector's Edition Dunkadelic Issue with Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, LeBron James and Tracy McGrady on the cover.

2005 -- David Dupree of the USA Today wrote that Vince Carter and LeBron James were the "dunkadelics" of the 2005 NBA All-Star game.

2005 -- ESPN the Magazine published "How Hip-Hop Amped Up the NBA" with Amare Stoudemire and Nelly on the cover. The magazine printed in a later issue that "hip-hop and basketball that's dunkadelic."

2005 -- Linda Cohn of ESPN SportsCenter would be first anchor to use the dunkadelic term to describe highlight dunks on National television

2005 -- The 1st Annual All-Dunkadelic Team were announced (the best dunkers of the NBA selected to 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams).

2006 -- The Dunkadelic term creator Derrick E. Vaughan was invited as a guest to the New York Knicks "Live at the Play by Play" post-game show to talk about the "Dunkadelic" origin.

2006 -- The basketball and hip-hop culture fusion of the past 22+ years from 1984-Present is being called The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America.

2006 -- XBox 360 the computer game titled an article "Dunkadelic University" for College Hoops 2K6.

2006 -- The 2nd Annual All-Dunkadelic Team and 1st Annual College All-Dunkadelic Team were announced.

2007 -- The Houston Chronicle created a blog titled "White House Dunkadelic" for the White House visit of the defending 2006 NBA Champion Miami Heat.

2007 -- LeBron James and Baron Davis were featured in a head-line blog "Dunkadelic-Highlight of the Night" on AOL Sports.

2007 -- Boston.com "LeBron James the superstar dunkadelic-swingman will carry the Cavs to an NBA Championship" was the title of blog after the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons to win the Eastern Conference Championship.

2007 -- The 10th Year Anniversary of the "Dunkadelic" terminology.

2007 -- The 3rd Annual All-Dunkadelic Team and 2nd Annual College All-Dunkadelic Team will be announced the day after the NBA Draft.
