New England Peptide Sponsors Children's Activities at American Cancer Society Relay For Life®

New England Peptide, LLC (NEP) will underwrite the children's activities at the Greater Gardner Relay for Life® this Friday, June 8, at Mount Wachusett Community College.

Gardner, Mass. (PRWEB) June 7, 2007 -- New England Peptide, LLC (NEP) will underwrite the children's activities at the Greater Gardner Relay for Life® this Friday, June 8, at Mount Wachusett Community College.

The 24-hour overnight event, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, begins Friday at 6 p.m., paying tribute to those who have lost the battle with cancer, those who have survived and those whose battle is ongoing. During the relay, teams of people gather on the track at the college, with each team working to keep at least one team member walking or running on the track at all times. The Gardner Relay for Life is one of more than 200 relays that will take place throughout New England in 2007.

NEP will provide funding for arts and crafts supplies, sporting equipment, entertainment for younger children, giveaways and prizes. The children's activities at Relay for Life help families participate in the event, explains Dave Robinson, CEO of NEP. "The sad reality is that cancer affects entire families. Our involvement can help the Relay experience serve as a positive family experience."

Forty percent of NEP's employees have committed to participate in the walk, according to Robinson. "Cancer affects our lives both professionally and personally," he says. "Producing the peptides and antibodies used in discovering drugs for use against cancer, NEP is involved in the fight against cancer on a daily level. We are honored to be a part of such an important effort in the community."

New England Peptide (www.nepeptide.com) designs and manufactures peptide and antibody products for drug discovery organizations worldwide. Headquartered in Gardner, Mass., and founded in 1998, the company specializes in custom peptide synthesis and polyclonal antibody production.
