Each month, HealthTalk hosts independently-produced free live shows that empower Multiple Sclerosis patients, their families and caregivers with cutting-edge information and access to the world's leading medical experts. This month's show, "What to Expert from Your MS Therapy?", will explore the roles and efficacy of various MS medications and explain how to build a treatment plan you can count on.
More than 400,000 people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune condition that causes the body to inappropriately attack the central nervous system. Most will experience cognitive symptoms at some point.
"What to Expect from Your MS Therapy" will feature S. Ralph Benedict, Ph.D., and Rock A. Heyman, M.D. Dr. Benedict is an associate professor of neurology at the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine, where he serves as the director of neuropsychology in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Neurosciences. Dr. Heyman is an assistant professor of neurology, director of the MS Center and chief of the division of neuroimmunology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also serves as chairman of the education committee of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and is chair of the clinical advisory board and a member of the board of trustees of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), Allegheny District Chapter.
