(PRWEB) June 9, 2007 -- Goodkids P.I.: A smart little book that will street-proof your children. Every so often, a children's book comes along that is not only entertains, but also educates. It's not only fun to read, but it teaches an important lesson in life and living as well.

Goodkids P.I.: Super Kid Sleuths is one of those books. Written by Constable Josh Cavicchioli of Ottawa, Ontario and lavishly illustrated by his award-winning artist cousin, Mike Brennan of Burlington, Ontario, Goodkids P.I. tells the tale of the dual life and identity of Jacob Goodkid.

By day, he's a student -- and a regular kid. By night, he teams up with his buddies, Jeffrey James and Clint Murdoch, to work as a team called Goodkid Private Investigations. Together, working directly with the police department -- Jacob's dad is a police officer -- the trio become a formidable crime-busting unit, doing their best to help keep their community safe from crime and criminals.

And when these Goodkid sleuths aren't out there solving crimes, they help to teach other youngsters how to stay safe and out of harm's way. This particular episode of Goodkids P.I. is entitled The Two-Wheeled Caper. Someone is stealing bikes from the schoolyard and the Super Kid Sleuths are hot on the thief's trail. Using their own investigation skills, some handy surveillance gadgets and a bit of help from Jacob's dad, the Super Kid Sleuths put their plans into motion to solve the schoolyard crimes.

Next thing you know, the boys have video-taped the bike thief -- and taken down some of the key numbers of his car's licence plate. Jacob's dad makes an arrest -- and the nasty bike thief is behind bars.

But that's not where the story ends. It turns out that someone has spray-painted the school sign and vandalized the students' lockers. And that, it seems, may well become the very next episode of Goodkids P.I.: Super Kid Sleuths.

This first episode, The Two-Wheeled Caper, is a great start to the Goodkids P.I. series. The writing is sharp, engaging, and tells the story crisply and in an easy-to-read manner; the artwork is a perfect match and illustrates the storyline beautifully.

Most important, perhaps, is the street-smart message -- how families can work together to help keep children safe from harm. Buy this book for your youngsters -- the whole family will appreciate it.
