(PRWEB) June 11, 2007 -- MC Strategies, Inc., a leader in e-learning solutions for healthcare professionals, today announced the launch of Mosby's Perioperative Nursing online course. This innovative and interactive program provides essential information that nurses - new and experienced - working in the perioperative setting need to know.

Mosby's Perioperative Nursing course consists of 49 interactive online modules that promote a nurse's active participation in learning. The program offers more than 55 contact hours and uses multimedia such as photographs and slide shows, to illustrate salient points in the lessons. Self-check activities such as case studies, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple-choice questions help engage nurses and promote critical thinking.

"The process of orienting a nurse to the perioperative setting is a challenge even under the best of circumstances. Mosby's Perioperative Nursing takes a unique web-based approach to help decrease the amount of time an assigned preceptor and educator must devote to face-to-face instruction, allowing them to focus on the clinical aspects of orientation," says Cindy Tryniszewski, RN, MSN, Director, Nursing e-Learning, MC Strategies. "This robust self-study program also provides new and experienced perioperative nurses with an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and skills and earn continuing education contact hours for license renewal or professional recertification."*
