Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- Grandstream Networks, a leading designer and manufacturer of next-generation IP Voice and Video products for broadband networks, today announced the release of the HandyTone 503. The HandyTone 503 combines a sleek design with the latest technology to offer more advanced telephony features and significantly better integrated router performance than its predecessor -- the HT488. It is the second ATA/IAD in the HandyTone 50x series.
The HandyTone 503 functions as a true 3-in-1 gateway for PSTN network, analog telephone FXS interface and IP network. It enables remote call origination and termination from/to PSTN and supports the feature of "hop-on/hop-off" calling using the programmable PSTN FXO port. E.g., a user on the road can call from his mobile phone into the PSTN port of HandyTone 503 in his home, get an IP dial tone and then place an international call to another country over the IP network. The HandyTone 503 supports popular telephony features such as caller ID, call waiting, call transfer, 3-way conferencing between IP and traditional PSTN network. The device supports up to 2 SIP account profiles and has a base stand for vertical positioning.
From a technical standpoint, the HandyTone 503 is packed with high-performance features which include 1 FXS analog telephone port (RJ11), 1 FXO PSTN line port (RJ11) with power-outage survivable life line and internet-disconnect survivable fail-over-to-PSTN support, dual 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports with integrated high-performance NAT router, port status and message waiting LED, multi-language voice prompts, an advanced and flexible dial plan, T.38 fax, direct IP calling, SIP over TLS, SRTP, symmetric and asymmetric voice codec/RTP in any call sessions, and automated provisioning. The HandyTone 503 also supports a broad range of popular voice codecs including G.711(a/µ-law), G.723.1, G.729A/B/E, G.726 and iLBC.
The HT503 is based on SIP standard and interoperable with most 3rd party SIP compliant devices and software. The MSRP for HandyTone 503 is $95.
"The HT503 is the next generation of affordable, high-quality, integrated and manageable IP telephony solution for both the residential customers and the 'road-warriors' who need advanced call features between traditional PSTN network and IP network in a reliable and flexible way." said David Li, CEO of Grandstream. "The release of HandyTone 503 reinforces our continued commitment to offer best-in-class innovative and affordable IP telephony solutions for the residential VoIP market."
The HandyTone 503 will be available in July 2007 through Grandstream's distribution channels worldwide. For more information about the HandyTone ATA Product Series, visit www.grandstream.com.
