Geosoft Inc Signs Agreement for Integrating PDF3D by Visual Technology Services within its Exploration and Geoscience Software and Solutions
Geosoft™ Adopts PDF3D® from Visual Technology Services to improve the ability for its users to publish 3D representations of data to Adobe® PDF Reader.
London, UK (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- Geosoft Inc, a leader in Software and Solutions for Earth exploration, announced that they have signed an agreement that will see Geosoft integrate Visual Technology Services’ PDF3D® technology into Geosoft’s Oasis montaj, Target and Target for ArcGIS software products. This agreement supports Geosoft’s continued Vision of making geospatial data access and analysis simple and natural for Explorers. Integrating the PDF3D SDK toolkit enables direct report generation from Geosoft software applications into 3D PDF interactive geospatial models.

Using a 3D PDF to share this representation increases the value delivery of our software users,” he added.
PDF3D technology enables the publication of documents containing interactive 3D graphics, harnessing the free Adobe® PDF Reader and U3D standard. Users can change viewing angles, scale factors and select visibility on model parts. With integration into Geosoft’s Oasis montaj, 3D PDF publishing paths are established for subsurface drill holes, grids, surfaces and voxels. As users of geospatial data across the industry already use Adobe Acrobat® to author technical reports, the addition of 3D content into those reports is a beneficial enhancement.
Through the PDF3D OEM/ISV program, applications like Geosoft’s Oasis montaj, Target and Target for ArcGIS that generate 3D representations of subsurface data, can be extended to publish, share and distribute interactive PDF models through email or the web. Application developers can use the PDF3D SDK, avoiding other intermediary file formats or external conversion programs.
