Memoir Tackles Love Relationship Issues with Grit and Humor

A gritty, sometimes heart wrenching and always entertaining memoir from Carmin Wharton, Lessons Learned: While Looking for Love in All the Wrong Faces, exemplifies a woman who shares painful life experiences to spare others pain.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- New authors often provide the most refreshing viewpoints in the non-fiction genre, and Carmin Wharton is no exception with her debut memoir, Lessons Learned: While Looking for Love in All the Wrong Faces. Sharing actual personal relationship experiences (including date rape) in which she struggled to find quality romance while wrestling with low self-esteem issues, Wharton's style is real, poignant, and satiric.

Wharton's book sets itself apart because it asserts that life is a classroom and people, circumstances and situations are our teachers. If we don't learn a lesson the first time, we will be presented with another chance to learn.

The characters in Wharton's book run the gamut of the Bad Boy, the Playboy, the Sugar Daddy, the Nut Case and even the Drug Addict. On the surface, the characters may appear to be stereotypical, but Wharton provides each with his own distinct personality as she crafts a masterpiece of women's non-fiction addressing current male-female relationship issues, particularly in the Black community.
Some "lessons" you will learn: The Devil Loves Church Too • Never Recycle Men • Leave Rehabilitation to the Experts.

Readers will discover that there are red flags and cues which will indicate that a person is not your perfect mate. Learn: How all relationships (even failed ones) teach you valuable life lessons • How to view what you've learned in relationships as "gifts" • How your history, level of self-esteem and self-worth affect relationship choices.

Each chapter concludes with "tools" to help you understand the lesson: Lesson-In-Depth • Gift • Provoking Thought • Scripture
