Sunday's Best - Park's Black Shoes, Bucket Hat and Skort Make Her Best-Dressed in LPGA Championship Final Round

Angela Park picked a distinctive, feminine yet athletic black outfit that included a matching bucket hat and the only pair of black shoes among the contenders in the final round of Sunday's MacDonald's LPGA Championship.

(PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- Angela Park picked a distinctive, feminine yet athletic black outfit that included a matching bucket hat and the only pair of black shoes among the contenders in the final round of Sunday's MacDonald's LPGA Championship.

"Her choice of color and of a skort set her apart from nearly everyone else wearing boy shorts and Bermudas," said Tracey Lynn Blake, president and founder of traceylynngolf, http://www.traceylynngolf.com, a fashion-forward women's golf clothing line for younger and athletically-built women. "She proved a women can still be attractive while playing golf.

"Too much golf clothing for women, including what the pros wear, makes players look like they are participating in a bike race," Blake said.

While Park, a tour rookie, was Blake's fairway fashion pick for ladies golf clothing at the LPGA Championship, tournament winner Suzann Pettersen and Lindsey Wright, who challenged on the back nine to finish four shots behind at 10 under, earned final round pans from the womens golf apparel designer.

"While Suzann impressively kept her emotions under control and avoided a repeat of the four-shot final holes meltdown that caused her to lose the Kraft Nabisco Championship in April, she lost control of her waistline all day showing her stomach and back as the tail of her too short shirt kept pulling out," Blake said.

Blake didn't like Wright's choice of shorts for the final round.

"It was the pattern--some sort of pinstripe and green on white -- that looked awful from both a distance, on TV and up close,"

Keep it simple, Blake advised.

"Morgan Pressel looked great in her mid-thigh length solid white Polo® shorts with red shirt," Blake said.

Returning to Park, who posted her first top-10 finish and finished fifth, Blake said her outfit was UV treated and made of a performance enhancing self-wicking fabric that stretched.

"That's what we've learned this spring from our own best-selling collection--women like black and they want high technology fabrics that feel great when worn."

Blake's best-selling collection, available exclusively online, includes black skorts and shirts with accents in black mesh, leopard and a black-grey print. Matching jackets and pants also are available.

Only Paula Creamer wore pink among the contenders at Bulle Rock in Harve Maryland. Activewear designers are replacing hot pink this year based on fabric color palettes released at major design shows last fall. Those palettes guide manufactures for the coming season.

"Paula has a branding theme, even playing a pink ball this week, and she creates excitement with her matching pink hair ribbon, hat, earrings and other accessories," Blake said.
