Stay At Home Dad Gives Away Free Software to Limit Children's Computer Usage

Stay-At-Home-Dad, Homeschooling Entrepreneur had software developed to limit the amount of time children spend on the computer. He is distributing it free to promote his new social networking website for people who hunt and fish.

Leawood, KS (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- For most people over the age of 30, as a child they were told to not watch too much television. "You'll go blind!" our mothers warned -- no matter how rarely, if ever, such a case actually occurred. In today's world, children are watching plenty of TV, but a key concern of 21st century parents is that children are spending too much time on the computer.

"I am a stay-at-home dad, and recently began home schooling my son, so you can imagine how much I get to see him each day. I couldn't believe how much of his time was spent on the computer. It had to stop," explains Bob Harte.

Mr. Harte decided to take matters into his own hands. He created free software that allows parents to set a timer, restricting the amount of time a child spends on the computer each day -- automatically logging them off once they hit their pre-set limit.

"There was nothing on the market that met my needs, so I hired a programmer to create a custom software application that would do the trick. Once I tested it out, I realized every parent in America needs this, so I decided to give it away for free," explains Bob Harte.

The "Loggeroffer" software is available for free download for those using the Windows operating system at www.AmigoMaker.com. Once at the website, you will notice that the software isn't the only free offer on the page.

AmigoMaker.com is a one-of-a-kind social network for hunters and fishermen created by Bob Harte.

"Besides the need for parental control software, I saw the need for a network of hunters and fishermen. I like to hunt and fish, and I made this site for anyone else that might enjoy the same," notes Bob Harte regarding his new site.

AmigoMaker.com offers all the bells and whistles of most social networks, with an ever-growing membership base of hunting and fishing enthusiasts. This hyper-targeted user group offers members a unique opportunity to network with one another while discussing their passion.

Free parental control software exclusively offered on a social networking site for hunters and fishermen might not seem like a natural fit, but for those that are already members of the site, the relationship goes hand and hand.

"It is strange that Bob knew exactly where to scratch two unique itches I had online. I'm always concerned about my kids spending too much time on the computer, and, by the way, I love to fish," notes Brad Kustin, an avid fisherman.
