Science Buddies Launches New Science Fair Project Ideas Based on Popular DragonflyTV Series
Leveraging the "real kids doing real science" concept, Science Buddies partners with DragonflyTV to deliver new science fair project ideas which integrate video from the popular PBS Kids series.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2007 -- Leveraging the "real kids doing real science" concept, Science Buddies partners with DragonflyTV to deliver new content which integrates video from the popular PBS Kids series. According to Science Buddies Founder Ken Hess, "we expect that the combination of DragonflyTV video clips with Science Buddies project ideas will make science more accessible and engaging to a broader audience of students."
Project ideas such as "Nothing But Net: The Science of Shooting Hoops" http://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentoring/project_ideas/Sports_p010.shtml help introduce students to scientific concepts through engaging activities. Each science fair project idea provides detailed instructions on how to complete the project plus a video feed from the DragonflyTV website to offer students an inspiring introduction from real kids doing an investigatory project. "The complementary nature of the DragonflyTV videos and the Science Buddies project ideas presents an outstanding opportunity to extend the reach of DragonflyTV to a new audience," says Rick Swanson, Science Content Director at DragonflyTV.
The new video content is the first venture into multimedia for the Science Buddies website which already offers over 350 science fair project ideas. The multimedia content is geared towards middle school students (grades 6-8) and will focus on such appealing topics as sports, technology, living things, and many others. The new content is now available on the Science Buddies website, with plans to release up to seventy five new project ideas by 2008.
Science Buddies develops free online science fair project ideas, answers, and tools for students in grades K-12. For more information on Science Buddies please visit: www.sciencebuddies.org
