Jim Sirbasku, CEO of Profiles International, Inc, gave the Commencement Address at the 2007 College of Education & Human Development Commencement at the University of Minnesota for more than 4,500 graduates, alumni, family and friends held Thursday, May 10, 2007.
(PRWEB) June 16, 2007 -- Jim Sirbasku, CEO of Profiles International, Inc, gave the Commencement Address at the 2007 College of Education & Human Development Commencement at the University of Minnesota for more than 4,500 graduates, alumni, family and friends held Thursday, May 10, 2007.
Sirbasku addressed the current National Statistics on high school students. "For every 100 students who enter the 9th grade; 21 do not graduate, 50 enter college within 2 years, and only 21 receive a degree," says Sirbasku. "Education is the key to opportunity, the foundation of a highly educated, innovation-driven economy, and essential to being a leader in a global competitive workforce."
In his Commencement Address, Sirbasku also shared My Formula for Living, "Think with your imagination, not your memory"; and The 12 Choices of Success.
Sirbasku concluded with, "Always remember the 7 elements of greatness...Vision, Belief, Desire, Courage, Perseverance, Execution, Passion...It simply is not enough to be the best...when you have the ability to be...GREAT!"
"In his commencement address, University of Minnesota alumnus, Mr. Sirbasku provided real-world practical advice for how to lead a positive life. Reciting self-affirmations, setting goals, and reviewing all of this each day were the primary tools he described that helped him become a successful entrepreneur and businessman," says Darlyne Bailey, Dean and Assistant to the President, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota. "He encouraged everyone to do likewise. His inspirational advice, in tandem with the knowledge learned and skills gained during the students' academic career, was a wonderful message for our students and guests to hear on this special day in their lives."
