There is More to Learn at a Summit and Exposition
What is the annual Southwest Learning Summit and Exposition? It's a free event for anyone to attend who will benefit from knowing what is new and effective in training and development programs. There will be informational presentations as well as exhibits by many professional learning organizations, consulting groups, and suppliers of training materials.
(PRWEB) June 16, 2007 -- The Dallas Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) offers their annual Southwest Learning Summit and Exposition (SLS) this summer. The Learning Summit portion provides free presentations on new and effective training and development programs or other information relevant to leadership and human resource professionals. The Exposition portion includes vendors who provide training classes, consulting, or learning and organizational development materials.
Each year since its inception, the SLS attracts hundreds of ASTD members and other interested individuals, which include decision makers from dozens of the largest and most recognized Texas employers. This annual event allows attendees an opportunity to experience training and development tools and products available through exhibitors and individual learning sessions throughout the day. Through networking at the event, everyone in the learning community can share the latest ideas, trends in the industry, and best practices to help them achieve excellence in the workplace. For exhibitors and presenters, SLS offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously market their business and facilitate learning.
The annual Southwest Learning Summit and Exposition is held at a location in the Dallas/Forth Worth multiplex area during the summer each year. Actual dates, times, and location for SLS may be found on the Dallas ASTD website at http://www.dallasastd.org. Application deadlines for exhibits and presentations are typically set for a few weeks prior to the event date. Registration to attend the SLS event is free. There is a charge for participating in the lunch program.
Dallas ASTD is the sponsor of the Southwest Learning Summit and Exposition. Their membership includes trainers, training managers, directors, instructional designers, vice-presidents, entrepreneurs, performance improvement consultants and organization development experts. The mission of Dallas ASTD is to provide leadership and resources to Human Resource Development (HRD) professionals interested in enhancing their work-related competence, performance and fulfillment. Therefore, the chapter continues to look for ways to help organizations find quality Training and Development (T&D) resources whether they have an immediate need or are looking at potential needs in the future through building of their knowledge and skills.
