New Virtual Science Fair Project Contest Announced - Your Brilliant Idea for a Science Fair Project Can Win an iPod

Young scientists of all ages and their teachers (including parents who home-school) are invited to enter the 2007 3rd International Virtual Summer Science Fair Contest sponsored by www.super-science-fair-projects.com. The contest will run from June 15, 2007 through August 20, 2007.

Evanston, IL (PRWEB) June 19, 2007 -- Young scientists of all ages and their teachers (including parents who home-school) are invited to enter the 2007 3rd International Virtual Summer Science Fair Contest sponsored by www.super-science-fair-projects.com. The contest will run from June 15, 2007 through August 20, 2007.

Prizes will be awarded. First-prize winners will receive an iPod. Entry forms may be downloaded from the web site, which contains all the contest details.

"All you have to do is make a list of ideas," says web site director Madeline Binder, a teacher and counselor. "The winners will be the people who come up with the most creative, fun, unusual or outrageous science fair project ideas."

Each project idea must include the question, the corresponding hypothesis. Optional: materials that would be required to conduct the experiment.

There will be one first-prize winner and 3 honorable mentions in each of these age categories:

  • Kindergarten through 3rd grade
  • 4th through 8th grade
  • High school
  • College/home-school parent/classroom teacher

This is a virtual contest. That means that everything is entered via email except the entry form must be sent via regular mail.

"One thing we definitely do not want is a project copied off the internet," Ms. Binder says. "We check for those, and any we find will be eliminated from consideration." She suggests that in addition to just sitting back and letting your mind dream up ideas, you could also subscribe to the free monthly Science Fair Enthusiasts e-zine. One idea in the newsletter could trigger 20 new ideas!
