Dry, Rough or Scaly Skin on Feet a Common Problem, Especially for Diabetics

Hot summer weather and open-backed shoes often exacerbate a common problem: dry, flaky skin on feet - especially heels. For most people this is a cosmetic problem, causing heels to appear yellow or dark brown depending on the skin type. Diabetics are particularly affected, since rough, dry and scaly skin affects most people with diabetes over the age of 64. Acid-free, diabetic-friendly CalleX® Ointment offers a natural, effective solution to the problem.

(PRWEB) June 20, 2007 -- Hot summer weather and open-backed shoes often exacerbate a common problem: dry, flaky skin on feet - especially heels. For most people this is a cosmetic problem, causing heels to appear yellow or dark brown depending on the skin type. Diabetics are particularly affected, since rough, dry and scaly skin affects most people with diabetes over the age of 64.

C. J. Buck, CEO of Xenna Corporation (www.xenna.com), a distributor of natural foot care products, says, "Overly dry skin on feet often leads to cracked heels and a hard growth of skin, usually on the outer edge of the heel. Xenna's diabetic-friendly CalleX® Ointment offers a natural, effective solution to the problem."

CalleX Ointment is sold in the foot care section of three major drug chains, as well as through podiatrists. Buck says, "The thing that makes CalleX Ointment different than other products for dry feet is that it's formulated with natural enzymes and is free of potentially-irritating acids, parabens and lanolin. The enzymes help thin and soften hardened, thickened skin and remove dry, cracked, or scaly buildup, while leaving normal skin unaffected. CalleX Ointment is also a humectant for dry feet by holding in the skin's moisture."

The results of a four-week, in-use evaluation of CalleX Ointment by insulin-dependent diabetics confirmed that CalleX Ointment effectively exfoliates dry, flaking or cracked skin on soles and heels. While marketed to the general population the study also confirmed that CalleX Ointment is diabetic-friendly.

Dry feet are a particular problem for older individuals and diabetics, but people of all ages find flaking, cracked heels and soles unattractive. Buck says, "Women especially hate to expose their dry, rough heels in sandals or sling-backs and frequently rely on pedicures to keep their feet attractive for the pool or beach. CalleX Ointment offers a less expensive alternative to pedicures, which can be expensive and require frequent repeat visits. Once feet are smooth and soft with daily use of CalleX for 2 to 4 weeks, soft, smooth heels and soles are easily maintained with only a few applications a week."

Unattractive toenails are another common problem, especially for older individuals. Xenna's NonyX® Nail Gel is a topical, easy-to-use gel used by podiatrists, but also sold in pharmacies, that breaks down and removes keratin debris -- the discolored, yellow, or thick granular buildup under nails that causes them to appear yellow or discolored.

Natural, diabetic-friendly NonyX Gel softens thick keratin debris buildup using natural ethanoic acid, permitting it to be scraped out from under the nail, beginning after about four weeks.

NonyX Nail Gel can be purchased in the foot care section of Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Wal-Mart, Longs, TARGET, Eckerd Pharmacy, Brooks Pharmacy, Duane Reade, HEB, Bi-Lo and Giant Eagle grocery stores, Kerr Drug, Snyders and most Medicine Shoppes. Online, it is also available at www.xenna.com.

CalleX Ointment is sold in the foot care section of Walgreens, Rite Aid, Longs, HEB grocery stores, Kerr Drug, Snyders Giant Eagle, Bi-Lo, Bruno's and many Medicine Shoppe pharmacies, as well as online at www.xenna.com.
