Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 21, 2007 -- Cindy Novak and sister Adriana were always looking for a place to settle down from raising their familes and growing their business. Little did they know that there future would be organizaing peoples garages. "We saw an opportunity to organize and beautify garages in the Daytona Beach and Flager County"
With 93 percent of all homes in the United States having garages, the potential and demand for the company's services has flourished since being founded in 2002. Dagen took the next two years to develop all aspects of design, production, patenting and trade-marking for HouseWall's custom features. After four years of successful regional growth, Dagen began franchising the HouseWall concept in February 2006. Just four months later, HouseWall has seven locations in four states, several franchise agreements in the works and projects to reach 150 locations by 2008.
"We are building our rapidly growing niche business on people learning to appreciate and utilize the garage as another well-cared for aspect of their household," said Dagen, founder and CEO of HouseWall Garage System. "The garage often comprises up to 20 percent of a home's square footage. Teaching homeowners how to utilize that space and to get their cars back into the garage is at the core of the HouseWall concept," he said.
With more than $1 billion worth of damage caused to vehicles after the onslaught of hurricanes and other forms of severe weather in the last two years, an increasing number of consumers throughout the United States are recognizing the need to get organized so they can put their vehicles back in the protection of their garage.
"The garage was invented for a reason," Dagen said. "It doesn't make sense for a few thousand dollars worth of 'stuff' to clutter the garage when a $60,000 vehicle is left outside, exposed to salt air, hurricanes and other elements that depreciate its value."
Garage Organization - An Open Door of Opportunity
According to Dagen, the home improvement industry has focused on organizing kitchens, bedrooms and closets, but few companies have made a significant dent in the market for garage organization.
"The potential for growth is limitless as more and more consumers embrace all aspects of home improvement as well as the protection of their current assets--namely vehicles," he said.
HouseWall Garage System seeks franchisees that are personable with strong sales skills and ties to their community. Dagen believes strongly in community outreach, establishing the HouseWall Homes Foundation, through which the company has partnered with local and national charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and local schools. In the past year and a half, HouseWall has donated upwards of $100,000 to various organizations. Dagen is quick, however, to teach franchisees that charitable outreach extends well beyond a monetary donation - that local networking is vital to build community relationships and the success of their HouseWall franchise.
The initial investment is approximately $136,000 to $168,000, which guarantees an exclusive territory that includes 15,000 homes valued at $250,000 each and up. Included in that investment is approximately $40,000 of inventory, what Dagen describes as basically a 'shop in a box' so the franchisee can be in business within a matter of weeks.
The business model is centered on the state-of-the-art HouseWall signature paneling that is added as the new 'face' of the garage interior. This water-resistant paneling offers a grooved surface from which hooks, shelves, racks, steel-reinforced cabinets and custom-designed accessories are added according to each consumer's individual needs.
Once installed, the HouseWall paneling provides a way for a variety of items such as sporting equipment, gardening tools, old collectibles, etc, to be organized and off the floor--but always in reach. To complete the transformation of the 'room,' a durable and stain-resistant flooring is added to create the base of the new garage.
Another integral part of the HouseWall Garage System is an intense, weeklong comprehensive training program for new HouseWall franchise owners, dubbed the "cruise," that each franchisee completes before their opening. During the five, 12-hour days, the "cruise" charts out every aspect of the HouseWall business, from sales training to schematic classes that teach franchisees how to design the homeowner's new garage on a laptop using a spreadsheet program developed by Dagen. The program allows the HouseWall organization specialist to draw a sketch of the homeowner's garage on-the-spot and map out how they can customize the homeowner's garage for maximum efficiency.
"We've developed a simple 'factory-direct' type business model to keep costs low for consumers and return maximum profits for our franchisees," said Dagen. "We're eager to get to the point that when people think of an organized, efficient household they think of an organized garage. And when they think of garage organization, we want HouseWall Garage System to come to mind."
