Collins College Ranked Number One Computer Training, Network Technology School by Phoenix Business Journal

Collins College, a school of design and technology, was ranked by the Phoenix Business Journal as the number one computer training, network technology school in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tempe, Arizona (PRWEB) June 22, 2007 -- Collins College, a school of design and technology, was ranked by the Phoenix Business Journal as the number one computer training, network technology school in Phoenix, Arizona. Ranking is based on instructor hours. Collins College offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Network Technology and an Associate of Science Degree in Personal Computer/Network Technology.

"We are very pleased to be listed as the number one computer training school by the Phoenix Business Journal," said Scott Burrell, department chair of Network Technology at Collins College. "Students take approximately 15 hours of core classes in network technology per week for five weeks, during which time instructors are able to provide a lot of individualized instruction." In addition to this class time, all of Collins' students, regardless of their major, are assigned a school email address giving them access to all of their instructors whenever necessary.

"A Bachelor of Science Degree in Network Technology prepares students for entry-level jobs in corporate IT departments, and Collins College, as a private institution, has the flexibility to quickly add to or revise the curriculum to keep pace with technology. To ensure our degree programs meet industry standards, we have a technology advisory board comprised of community members that annually reviews our curriculum. And all of our instructors are required to have technology-related experience," stated Burrell.

Collins College's Bachelor of Science Degree in Network Technology exposes students to a variety of computers and systems. It provides training in the installation, configuration and management of various operating systems, and students can learn about the challenges of programming Cisco routers and creating/managing an IT infrastructure. Coursework also introduces students to wireless technologies and to basic security configurations. The associate degree program focuses on working with personal computers and local area network set-up, including system upgrades, diagnostics and repair. Career services offers job placement assistance for graduates of both degree programs.
