Virgin Nigeria Becomes Airlogica's Newest Customer

Airlogica welcomes another international airline, this time from the continent of Africa, to their growing list of customers. They are very excited that Virgin Nigeria has selected the Zeus product to assist in controlling their distribution costs.

(PRWEB) June 23, 2007 -- Airlogica welcomes another international airline, this time from the continent of Africa, to their growing list of customers. They are very excited that Virgin Nigeria has selected the Zeus product to assist in controlling their distribution costs.

"With Zeus we can not only validate the monthly invoices but it will give us the ability to identify and manage agent booking behaviors which impact our goals of decreasing GDS costs," says Alex Dumbrell, Virgin Nigeria's Head of Revenue Management and Pricing. "Also, we recognize the distribution knowledge of the Airlogica staff which has, I think, a value for every airline. The support of their products and customers is known to be of the highest quality in our business."

Peter Pont, Airlogica's General Manager for the EMEA region, adds: "Having Virgin Nigeria on board means a lot to us because it proves that Zeus does add value to mid-sized airlines as well. It is not just paying the right amount for the invoice that is important, but also knowing why and where your costs are so that you know how to achieve decreases in your distribution costs."

Virgin Nigeria is Nigeria's private sector flag carrier, 51% owned by Nigerian institutional investors and 49% owned by Virgin Atlantic. The airline was formed in September 2004 when the Federal Government of Nigeria announced the selection of Virgin Atlantic Airways as the strategic investor and technical partner in this exciting project.

From their base at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Virgin Nigeria will develop a global network of domestic, regional and international routes from its home base in Lagos. It will progressively serve routes domestically within Nigeria, regionally within West and central Africa, and inter-continentally to Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Virgin Nigeria will provide the Nigerian and West African market with the commitment and vision to deliver sustained performance, service and growth.

Their aim is to create the best airline, not just in Nigeria but the best in Africa.
