New Classroom Table Options from Versa Products, Inc
Previously, Versa manufactured their line of Adjustable Classroom Tables with several width and length options, the largest at 72" x 30." But at that size, and multiple students sitting at a single table, they still wouldn't have been able to squeeze sixty students into the space. "We came up with a room layout that made sense, and developed a table especially for that district. Our Adjustable classroom table, but instead of a 30" width, we scaled the table down to 24" wide x 72" in length, and then furnished each table with LCD monitor arms to make up for the lost space," Stormer explains.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2007 -- With the class sizes of primary and secondary schools increasing all over the country, in both public and private institutions, space is at a premium. Finding the right sized classroom desks can help minimize the overcrowding within the classroom and still allow for each student to have personal space.
Versa Products, Inc., the Los-Angeles based manufacturer and retailer or high-quality classroom and office furniture, realized how important desk size was while working with a school district in New York. "They sent us the blue print of their computer lab drawn to scale and told us they wanted to fit sixty students comfortably in that room," says Christopher Stormer, the Director of Marketing at Versa. "We got our engineers and top designers together, told them what they wanted and they all just looked at each other. At first, we didn't think it was possible."
But it was possible, and Versa Products accomplished the task. How? By thinking out side the box, or desktop, if you will. Previously, Versa manufactured their line of adjustable classroom computer furniture with several width and length options, the largest at 72" x 30." But at that size, and multiple students sitting at a single table, they still wouldn't have been able to squeeze sixty students into the space. "We came up with a room layout that made sense, and developed a table especially for that district. Our Adjustable classroom table, but instead of a 30" width, we scaled the table down to 24" wide x 72" in length, and then furnished each table with LCD monitor arms to make up for the lost space," Stormer explains.
LCD monitor arms, for those who aren't aware, come in several different models and attach to the back of the computer monitor, allowing it to be mounted someplace other than the desktop. In addition to creating more desktop writing space, LCD monitor arms also rotate and tilt, allowing others to see the screen without having to get up and stand behind the user.
"Due to the configuration of these tables, we knew the kids wouldn't have much floor space for their books and backpacks without the chairs of other students rolling over them all the time," Christopher Stormer explains. "So we added shelves under the desk where they could store their things without stepping on them. I won't see it wasn't a challenge, but our client was happy in the end, and when clients are happy, they come back again and again."
The process is now benefiting other schools and computer labs as well. After creating the new "slim" tables for the folks in the Big Apple, Versa Products decided to expand their classroom table line by adding the new table size to their line up and the customized pieces are now available to anyone. Voila!
