Ruinart Goes to Taormina With Harry Winston -- The House of Ruinart Delights Stars at the Taormina Film Festival

The House of Ruinart was invited by Harry Winston to be the champagne of choice at its famous Rare Time Club on the main terrace at the Timeo Hotel during the Taormina FilmFest.

Taormina, Italy (PRWEB) June 24, 2007 -- The House of Ruinart was invited by Harry Winston to be the champagne of choice at its famous Rare Time Club on the main terrace at the Timeo Hotel during the Taormina FilmFest. This year, the 53rd festival will run from June 16-23rd, preceding the Nastri d'Argente, the Italian Oscars. Each evening of the festival, VIP guests are invited onto the spectacular terrace overlooking the sea and set against the ancient Greek amphitheater where the films are screened, to indulge their passion for cinema with Ruinart's signature champagne, Blanc de Blancs, made exclusively from chardonnay grapes. Guests such as renowned directors André Téchiné, Terrence Davies, Giuseppe Tornatore and actors such as Eric Bana and Robert Duvall relaxed on the Harry Winston terrace with Ruinart, admiring the magical vistas before enjoying the featured film of the night.

One of the main highlights this week was Harry Winston's anniversary dinner -- to celebrate its fifth year in Taormina, Harry Winston hosted on June 18 an exclusive and intimate champagne tasting dinner with Ruinart. VIP guests were treated to the exquisite Ruinart Rosé and the sought-after cuvées de prestige Dom Ruinart 1996 and Dom Ruinart Rosé 1996. Each individual "vin de champagne" was paired carefully with local delicacies especially created for the occasion around the range of champagnes. Stephanie Chassing (of Ruinart) and Gianluca Maina (of Harry Winston) welcomed their international guests with pleasure and Ms. Chassing exclaimed that they "came to Taormina with a common passion, to share our love for the art of film-making and all things exceptional… this simply would not be complete without great wine and food, so naturally, Ruinart wholeheartedly joined Harry Winston and brought for this special occasion some of its rarest Dom Ruinart vintages embodying the haute couture experience of wine, adding an additional sparkle to the dazzling jewels from Harry Winston."

Also expected to visit in the next few days are Matt Dillon, James Franco, Kerry Kennedy, Maestro Ennio Morricone and director Michael Bay along with the cast of the Transformers. The most anticipated film of the summer, Transformers is having its worldwide premiere at the FilmFest to be followed by a party on the terrace where they will celebrate with Ruinart champagne. The Paramount team will turn out in force, as it did in 2000 for Tom Cruise and MI: 2 when that film made its European premiere in Taormina. Earlier in the evening, Harry Winston will present the Taormina Arte Award for Cinematic Excellence to Michael Bay and Margherita Buy. The prize, which is awarded each night of the FilmFest to an exceptional cinema personality, is a rare Harry Winston timepiece. As a fitting reward for being awarded this prestigious prize, winners will be presented with a bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs to celebrate their achievements and that's not all -- the champagne will be encased in a beautiful leather sling created for those spontaneous "on the go" moments.
