Bruce Stinson of ChiLab Appointed to the Advisory Board of the Global Institute of Logistics

The Global Institute of Logistics is pleased to announce that Bruce Stinson of Hong Kong-based ChiLab has been appointed to its Board of Advisors.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 26, 2007 -- The Announcement was made at the North American Industry Dinner in the Crowne Plaza Buckhead, Atlanta on Monday June 25th by Institute Chief Executive Kieran Ring. Mr Stinson is Managing Director of ChiLab Limited.

Speaking at the announcement Kieran Ring said:

"I'm delighted to welcome Bruce to the Board of Advisors of the Institute, his unique insight into the constructing of a corporate culture which reflects the collaborative dynamic and how to make each individual within an organization competent in relationship excellence will provide an invaluable dimension to the work of the Institute.

"We have always said that relationship excellence is at the heart of global logistics and with Bruce's appointment we move from the theoretical to the practical. We look forward to working closely with him to create a range of training, development and educational resources to further the penetration of relationship excellence in global logistics."

Educated in Sydney, Australia, Mr Stinson first qualified as a pharmacist before moving into the fields of television and print journalism and education. He has been a resident of Hong Kong for fourteen years and is very prominent in local circles being a Member of the Hong Kong Wine Society, The Kowlooon Cricket Club and The Carbine Club of Hong Hong, as well as a Past President of the Rotary Club of Kowloon North. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Management.

Mr Stinson has become a vigorous advocate of change in education and work practices. His views have been endorsed by a wide range of prominent educators in a number of recent newspaper articles and other material.

Reacting to the announcement Bruce Stinson said:

"It seems that never a week goes by without yet another piece appearing in the media about the stifling of creative thinking and innovation in Asia. I think this applies the world over and, without some creative impetus, there is no way you can modify behavior to achieve the standard of Relationship Orientation sought by the logistics industry

"I believe the focus on Right Mind skills, which is fundamental to our work, can achieve the desired result with regard to communication, bonding, trust and all of the other important aspects of relationship building and maintenance."

The Institute has also announced a partnership with ChiLab to develop industry standards in relationship orientation together with a training program and educational resources leading to certification. This development between the Institute and ChiLab is crucial in the push towards a more collaborative model throughout the industry. It is expected that the first intakes for the Certificate Program will occur in Hong Kong and Singapore through August-September 2007.

Mr Stinson leads an enthusiastic team of presenters, tutors and back-up staff who are perfectly placed to deliver and support the Global Institute's Certification Program.

About the Global Institute of Logistics
The Global Institute of Logistics was founded in 2001 by the members of the Global Logistics Forum under the Chairmanship of the late Robert V. Delaney, the renowned U.S. logistics commentator and author. The institute actively fosters and promotes high levels of relationship orientation amongst the stakeholders in the global logistics community. The institute acts as a bridge between the academic world and the world of business, educating the global supply chain community on the latest in academic thinking, while at the same time balancing and correcting the various hypotheses emanating from the academic community with the real experience of early adopters. About ChiLab Limited
Chilab Limited is a Hong Kong-based company specializing in the development of cutting edge training strategies and statistical analysis of their impact.

The company name, pronounced "Ky-Lab", is a reference to "Chi Square", a fundamental concept in statistics from the Greek Letter chi ("Ky"). For some time the ChiLab team has included prominent statisticians who are able to analyze and validate teaching strategies based on results.

ChiLab is not simply a training and development business, it represents a "laboratory" where important teaching concepts are discovered, nurtured and validated.

ChiLab's philosophy is that, in a world where Left Brain thinking is dominating in so many areas - political, managerial and educational - far better results can be obtained by stimulating creativity and innovation and improving the all-important personal skill-set which is Relationship Orientation.
