A Virtual Assistant is an independent entrepreneur who provides administrative, creative, and/or technical services, utilizing technological modes of communication and data delivery to assist clients in their area of expertise. The following are the directors on this year's Board.
Candy Beauchamp, OffAssist (www.offassist.com) in Austin, TX, is IVAA's new President. Candy specializes in bookkeeping for small to medium businesses and holds the IVAA CVA, EthicsCheck™, and CRESS certifications. Ms. Beauchamp has served IVAA by helping to set up the Members Benefits department, and by serving as Historian and Vice President on previous boards. She got her start more than a decade ago by being mentored by an Enrolled Agent (EA) while attending the University of Hawaii. She opened OffAssist in 2002. She is also a member in good standing with the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.
Linda B. Selden, LBS Business Services, Inc. (www.lbsasst.com) in Greenlawn, NY, returns to IVAA's Board for a second year as this year's President-Elect and Summit Co-Chair. LBS Business Services is a full service Virtual Office specializing in administrative, word-processing, and database management; focusing on Association Management, Antique Auctions, and Appraisal Preparation since 1991. Linda holds an AAS degree in Secretarial Sciences and is a Notary Public in the state of New York.
Marsha Kopan, Executive Secretarial Services (www.execsecsrv.com) in West Allis, WI, is now serving on the IVAA Board as Secretary. Marsha previously served on the IVAA Board as VP of Membership, and on the Summit and Web Committees. Executive Secretarial Services has specialized in Association Management since 1998 and freelance paralegal services since 2005. Marsha holds a Bachelor of Science in English, the IVAA EthicsCheck™, CVA and CRESS designations, and is a Paralegal and Notary.
Linda Siniscal, Third Hand Secretarial Service, LLC (www.yourextrahand.com) in Point Pleasant, NJ, is now serving on the IVAA Board as Treasurer. Linda is also the IVAA R&D Committee Chairperson and served on the By-Laws Committee. Third Hand Secretarial Service, LLC has offered bookkeeping services as well as administrative support since 1994. Linda is a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor, SBE and WBE company, and Notary Public in the state of New Jersey.
Donnette Cowgill, Pros & Commas (www.prosandcommas.com) in Rockwall, TX, now serves the IVAA Board as Historian. Donnette also served as Co-Chair for the Member Benefits Committee. Pros & Commas has offered transcription services since July of 1977. Donnette holds the IVAA EthicsCheck™ designation.
Sue Kramer, Peace of Mind Virtual Assistance (www.vapeaceofmind.com) in Clarendon Hills, IL, continues to serve the IVAA Board as Director of Marketing. Sue has served on the Board of Directors for the IVAA since the fall of 2005. She previously served as the Sponsor Chair for the 2005 IVAA Summit. Peace of Mind Virtual Assistance is a professional services firm specializing in virtual business support. POMVA's clients are business owners and other decision makers who understand the value partnering with a virtual professional brings to their business.
Lynne Norris, Norris Business Solutions: (www.norrisbusinesssolutions.com) in New Millport, PA, continues to serve the IVAA Board as Director of Membership; her third year in this position. Lynne holds an associate degree in business, has 17 years of administrative office experience, and has attained the IVAA EthicsCheck™ designation. For the last seven years, Norris Business Solutions has offered specialty services including transcription and customer service to individuals and small business owners.
Cheryl K. Callighan, MVA, Mentor/Coach, eOffice-Virtual Assistants, LLC and University of Virtual Assistants (http://www.eOffice-VirtualAssist.com and www.UofVAs.com) in Centennial, CO, serves the IVAA Board as Director of Member Benefits. Cheryl also served IVAA on the Mentorship Program, the Virtual Education Summit in 2006-2007, and on the 2007 Summit Committee for Sponsorship. eOffice-Virtual Assistants provides a wide variety of professional services including administrative, secretarial, transcription, technical writing, editing, proofreading, graphic design, web site creation and maintenance, podcast editing and mixing, and more.
Lauren Hidden, The Hidden Helpers, LLC (www.hiddenhelper.com) in New Cumberland, PA serves the IVAA Board as IVAACast Managing Editor, the association's online magazine. Lauren is the founder and owner of The Hidden Helpers. Lauren and her associates provide ghostwriting, editing and book design services to fiction and non-fiction authors. Lauren is the co-author of two books: Write It Right: The Ground Rules for Self-Editing Like the Pros and Entrepreneurial Freedom: How to Start and Grow a Profitable Virtual Assistance Practice. She also serves on the Board of the Central Pennsylvania Association of Female Executives.
Nora Rubinoff, At Your Service Cincinnati, Ltd. (www.aysweb.com) in Cincinnati, OH, serves the IVAA Board as Web Team Director. At Your Service Cincinnati specializes in project management, customer relationship management, e-mail marketing campaigns, and other virtual office services. Nora is a graduate of Virtual Assistance University and the Phillips Leadership Institute. She is a MVA, GVA and holds the IVAA EthicsCheck™ designation. Nora has received the West Chester Chamber Alliance Member of the Year Award, the Karen S. House Award for regional leadership and collaboration and the 2006 Women of Excellence Award.
Caroline Wright, The Wright Solution (www.wrightsolution.com) in Princeton, NJ, serves the IVAA Board as Director of Education; her second year in this position. The Wright Solution specializes in providing marketing and lead generation services to real estate agents and has been in business for over seven years. Caroline holds the IVAA CVA, CRESS and EthicsCheck™ designations.
