Hot for Summer Sports - Go to Cali

California to host two of the hottest sporting events of the summer as evidenced by ticket demand.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 29, 2007 -- With the end of the US Open Golf, the recent completion of the NBA and NHL finals and the long wait for the NFL to kick off, sports fans find themselves turning to the golden state for more competitive action. Hosting some of the most popular games of the season, California is the summer hot spot for sports.

In baseball, fans are gearing up for the 78th MLB All Star Game on July 10 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. With ballpark ballots closed, a surge of votes during the last 24 hours of online voting may affect the lineups. For the first time ever, TBS will host the announcement of the American and National League rosters on July 1.

Much anticipation has centered on this year's All Star game as fans hope to follow their favorites. "This year tickets are starting as low as $400 to $500 for seats to the game," says Randy Cohen, CEO of Ticket City. Many expect to see Barry Bonds in action and continuing his home run record chase.

Major League Soccer also heats up this summer with international soccer star David Beckham joining the LA Galaxy. Fans are grabbing up tickets to see Beckham during his first game with the Galaxy against the Chelsea Football Club on July 21 at 5:30pm.

"Beckham's imminent US debut is making an impact on ticket prices," states Randy Cohen, CEO for Ticket City. "Typically LA Galaxy tickets sell for $20-$40, but with Beckham's first appearance during the Chelsea FC game, tickets range from $200 on up."

Beckham buzz is resonating throughout the sports world and is evidenced by the continued demand for Galaxy tickets. League games following Beckham's debut are currently priced from $150 to $250 per ticket. "Is Beckham the answer to boost American soccer?" questions Cohen. "Who knows, but as we are seeing now, the demand for MLS tickets is certainly increasing."

Hosting two of this season's major games, California's summer will be hot. For can't miss summer sports action, Ticket City is offering deals to all major match-ups and pre-event action such as the MLB All Star FanFest. To purchase tickets, fans should call (800) SOLD-OUT or go online to www.TicketCity.com.
