Steven Lilly Joins Cortina Asset Management

Steven Lilly joins Cortina Asset Management as a portfolio manager on their Small Cap Growth strategy.

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) June 30, 2007 -- Cortina Asset Management, a small cap investment firm with multiple strategies focused on capturing emerging and established growth leaders, has hired Steven Lilly, CFA, an experienced portfolio manager with broad experience in both small and mid cap growth equities.

As co-manager of Cortina's Small Cap Growth Strategy, Lilly will collaboratively manage client assets with Brian Bies. The Cortina Small Cap Growth Strategy, which seeks to identify potential small cap leaders early in the growth curve and well before discovery by Wall Street, will capitalize upon Lilly's decade of experience in the investment industry.

"Steve's investment approach and philosophy are consistent with what we have built at Cortina," said Brian Bies, Small Cap Growth portfolio manager at Cortina Asset Management. "His considerable experience will enhance the thematic-based investment process which we employ in the Small Cap Growth Strategy."

Lilly comes to Cortina from PEAK6 Investments and Columbia Management Group (formerly Stein, Roe & Farnham) in Chicago. He received a B.S. degree in Finance and Marketing from Indiana University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. As portfolio manager of the small cap growth strategy at Columbia, his focus was in the healthcare and consumer discretionary sectors. Lilly's investment style emphasizes early recognition of small companies with exciting and attainable long-term growth prospects.

"Cortina has built an outstanding reputation because of the team's work ethic, methodology and performance," said Byron Roth, Roth Capital's chairman and CEO. Roth Capital, an independently-owned investment bank, has a minority ownership in Cortina. "Steve comes to Cortina with an outstanding reputation and we are excited by his potential to continue the firm's record of strong returns."

Cortina Asset Management, based in Milwaukee, is a small cap investment firm with two primary investment strategies -- the Cortina Small Cap Growth strategy and the Cortina Small Cap Opportunity strategy. For information about Cortina Asset Management, visit www.cortinaassetmanagement.com
