KEEN Inc. Announces Hybrid.Stand Initiative: Awarding $150,000 for Innovative Ideas Around Sustainability

KEEN Inc. announces the launch of Hybrid.Stand, an integrated program designed to engage and reward consumers for their ideas around sustainability.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 3, 2007 -- KEEN Inc. announces the launch of Hybrid.Stand, an integrated program designed to engage and reward consumers for their ideas around sustainability.

The Hybrid.STAND contest will fund ideas and initiatives around sustainability in the following three overall categories:

Stand Up: rewards creative individuals who communicate the value of sustainability through design, art, photography, journalism or film.

Stand Out: rewards adventurous people who use their passion for the outdoors to influence change and drive awareness around sustainability.

Stand For: rewards people who have developed innovative ways to involve others in actions that benefit the environment.

"Hybrid.Stand is an exciting opportunity to motivate anyone and everyone who wants to make some type of positive impact or statement regarding the issue of sustainability. This program takes what is talked about in the media at a very high level down to those who want to contribute and make a difference but don't know how to share or gain support for their ideas," says Bobbie Parisi, VP of Marketing.

The Hybrid.STAND contest will be announced in 14 national consumer publications throughout the US and the contest starts August 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of experts in the fields of design, art, photography, journalism, film, outdoor sports and non-profit management and research, beginning in February 2008. Each of the three overall categories will award a $25,000 prize along with 5-second tier awards at $5000 each, for a grand total of award money at $150,000.

The program will also be promoted at 70+ colleges and universities throughout the US. This is a great opportunity for younger consumers to gain experience and visibility for their sustainability ideas. Designated KEEN Brand Ambassadors will help drive awareness of the Hybrid.STAND message at the colleges and universities encouraging students to submit their green Ideas to the Hybrid.STAND contest.

A Hybrid.STAND film night will be held at each campus showcasing a documentary about 10 inspiring individuals who are pioneering new sustainable ideas and how they are encouraging others to do the same.

On June 21, 2008, KEEN Inc. will host a sustainability festival in Portland, OR to announce the winners and celebrate ideas and inspiration around sustainability.
