Dr. Barbara W. Mihalas named Chief Technical Officer
Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) July 5, 2007 -- Identity Defense.com, a Syracuse based company committed to helping individuals defend their personal information from identity theft and fraud, has hired Dr. Barbara W. Mihalas as their Chief Technical Officer.
Dr. Mihalas brings to the company an extensive scientific and mathematical background, having earned her undergraduate degree in physics and her PhD in theoretical astrophysics from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She combines her education with many years of experience in software engineering and management, and conceptualizing and directing data and information management projects.
Dr. Mihalas came to Syracuse as Associate Director of a high-performance computing institute at Syracuse University and later went into business as the technical partner in a start-up company in the Case Center of Syracuse University. She worked as a private consultant, designing and implementing complex, data-intensive Internet applications for Fortune 500 companies.
Her role with Identity Defense is to provide technical oversight, to design and implement website and data collection tools, and to work with University affiliates on analysis of identity theft and fraud risk data.
