Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) July 8, 2007 -- "Never underestimate a man in a sequined apron."
Joy of Liberace, Retro Recipes from America's Kitschiest Kitchen is the first-ever officially sanctioned book by the Liberace Foundation; complete with many never-before-seen archival photographs and coupled with the brand new concept of Bling Cooking™. David Hartnell for Out magazine-New Zealand raves "This book is a real treasure and shouldn't be kept in the kitchen with your other cook books; it deserves pride of place on your coffee table. Even if you're not interested in cooking, this book is a must."
This retro cookbook is Sooo Liberace! It is THE step-by-step guide to Bling Cooking™; cuisine with all the panache of the glitziest pianist who ever tickled a Steinway. Joy of Liberace is filled with 75+ recipes that made America swoon in the '50s. Matthew Breen for Out magazine states "…authors Michael Feder and Karan Feder gather the most amusing and delectable of the food fanatic's recipes, like Gilding the Lily Lasagna, Salamiami Bouquet, Poofy Puffy Spuds and Weenie Broil." These are classics that rocked Las Vegas and Palm Springs and are the culinary equivalent to the flamboyant music that kept viewers tuned in and turned on to The Liberace Show.
Created with the expertise of the chefs at Liberace's beloved Riviera Hotel and Casino where Liberace entertained for over 20 years, Joy of Liberace illustrates how to whip up the "blingiest" of concoctions proving that more is definitely MORE. This is the retro cookbook of the century; the cookbook that will go in everyone's time capsule. Grace Bascos for Las Vegas Life magazine writes "As a cook book, it's effective; as a kitsch novelty, priceless."
Pulled together with the panache that is the signature of the world's greatest entertainer-extraordinaire and the king of exuberant excess, Joy of Liberace features many never-before-published personal and candid photographs of Liberace with family and friends; imagesthat are as over-the-top as Liberace himself. Many of these photographs have been colorized based on meticulous historical research conducted at the Liberace Foundation's archival library. Kristen Peterson for Las Vegas Sun newspaper writes "The campy and colorful collection of kitsch is essential for anyone who wants to dabble in the decadence, but would rather not don the gay apparel."
