Astralcom Strategy Capitalizes on Business Trend: Opens Offices in Second Life

Astralcom, LLC open offices in Second Life and offers full development services to assist companies with thier virtual business deployments.

Lakewood, CA - July 9, 2007 - Astralcom, LLC (d.b.a. Astralcom) today announced that they had recently formed a third new business division and also opened up offices in Second Life®.

Capitalizing on new trends in technology, business and advertising, Astralcom has developed and opened offices in Second Life as a means to help other businesses establish a presence in the wildly popular 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, Second Life has grown explosively and today is inhabited by more than 7.5 million people from around the globe.

"We've looked at this trend for a while now and as the big companies like Coca Cola, IBM, Reebok,
American Apparel, Dell, BMW, H&R Block, Best Buy and 1800-Flowers and others are setting up shop in Second Life, we are doing the same," stated Richard Bergér, VP of E-Business at Astralcom.

"It's taken us several months of planning and development to establish a proper and effective 'in-world' presence," explained Bergér, "now that we're established, we're looking to cut that go-to-market time in half for our clients and other entities interested in establishing a virtual business presence," he added.

In forming this new business division, Astralcom identified a professional and competent team of Second Life programmers and build the new division around them. They also created a sub-brand called Astralcom SL - to specifically cater to the unique needs of Second Life businesses and they also built a new 3-D office space in Second Life.

"Right now, in Second Life, there is more than $1.8 million being exchanged per week. Second Life needs new businesses, products and services and ways to connect them with its growing resident base. Virtually any business in real life can work in Second Life - and just like real life, the same challenges exist for marketers and advertisers within Second Life: they must create user-centered experiences that deliver an actionable outcome which simultaneously advances the brand and connects the consumer with the product or service, "That's where we can help," added Bergér.
