Northern Ireland Shows Off Crea8ivity.com

Northern Ireland creative digital talent ‘portal’ now online.

Belfast, Northern Ireland, (PRWEB) July 9, 2007 -- The first stage of a major awareness campaign aimed at promoting Northern Ireland as a centre of creative digital content got underway this week with the campaign’s web site www.crea8ivity.com going live. Over the coming months the campaign will build interactive communities at the leading edge of digital content. The campaign also includes international market intelligence gathering, development of a buyer database, and participation in key overseas trade events and exhibitions in Europe, North America and the Pacific Rim. The international campaign aims to bring Northern Ireland based talent in digital content to the attention of commissioning decision makers worldwide.

Crea8ivity.com Campaign Direct or, Paul Smith explained: “Digital technology is revolutionizing the way businesses access a global marketplace. The convergence of media channels is also stimulating a global demand for content from the big players in telecommunications and television. So anyone interested in getting involved, whether by submitting content, posting comments or participating in future knowledge sharing or collaborations, can register their details now by visiting www.crea8ivity.com."

The campaign is part of a Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) broadband content initiative that saw 81 companies throughout Northern Ireland compete last year to be selected as exemplar projects to demonstrate the creative and technical talent available in Northern Ireland. 6 projects were selected by an evaluation panel that included DETI partners BBC Northern Ireland, BT, Bytel, Cable & Wireless and Northern Ireland Screen.

“The projects are now at various stages of development and the first, which is from Wild Rover Productions, is due to launch very soon," continued Smith. “Wild Rover has a great concept, it’s an online first and it’s from Northern Ireland. But ultimately all 6 projects will be accessible via www.crea8ivity.com and the content will be introduced on a free-trial basis for the duration of the campaign. In addition to these, we will also be showcasing lots more content from Northern Ireland’s creative digital industry.”

Notes to the Editor:
£1.75 million has been allocated to the Broadband Content Initiative under the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland’s Skills and Science Fund. The 6 projects will receive in total £1.4million (no more than £250,000 per project). The 6 exemplar projects are:

Stream On - Edcast - Online continuous professional development training for the medical and pharmaceutical professionals throughout the world.
Tibus - I Golf Pro - Interactive services to golfers while on the golf course
