Fannie May Offers Chocolate-Lovers New Reasons To Indulge: Hand-Scooped and Hand-Dipped Fannie May Ice Cream

Just in time for National Ice Cream Month, all of your favorite ice cream treats can now be made with all of your favorite Fannie May® candies. A waffle cone dipped in Fannie May milk chocolate and topped with a scoop of Mint Meltaway® ice cream; Pixie® and Toffee ice creams in a double scoop sundae topped with caramel sauce; and, a vanilla ice cream milk shake, hand-blended with Trinidad® chocolates, are a few examples. Starting this week, these and other hand-scooped sensations will be available at Fannie May's flagship store at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive in Chicago, and at its Homewood, Libertyville, Midlothian, and Mount Prospect locations.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 11, 2007 -- Just in time for National Ice Cream Month, all of your favorite ice cream treats can now be made with all of your favorite Fannie May® candies.

Fannie May also announced today the addition of chocolate hand-dipping at these same stores along with 34 others in Chicago and four in Indiana, offering vanilla ice cream bars, premium dried fruits, gourmet cookies, and fresh strawberries, in season at select stores, hand-dipped in Fannie May chocolate. Described as in-store "theaters," the open kitchen areas are designed to entertain and educate customers on the confectioner's art.

"We are excited to introduce a unique line of super premium scooped ice cream based on our best-selling chocolates as well as chocolate hand-dipped ice cream bars, and invite our customers to enjoy their Fannie May favorites in a whole new way," said Ed Fitzpatrick, Vice President of Retail Operations for Fannie May. "The addition of ice cream to the Fannie May line-up is a natural extension and based on consumer response to earlier tests, we look forward to eventually adding scooped ice cream to more of our stores."

The Fannie May Ice Cream collection features eight handcrafted, super premium ice cream flavors made from the finest quality ingredients: pure vanilla extract, fruit purees, rich caramel, buttery toffee, crunchy nuts, and, of course, Fannie May chocolate.

The new Fannie May Ice Cream flavors include:

  • Vanilla Buttercream - classic vanilla with pure vanilla extract
  • Milk Chocolate - classic chocolate made with Fannie May milk chocolate
  • Pixie - classic vanilla with caramel swirl and milk chocolate coated pecans
  • Toffee - classic vanilla with Fannie May milk chocolate covered toffee pieces
  • Strawberry - strawberry ice cream with strawberries and natural flavors
  • Mint Meltaway - mint ice cream with chocolate pieces
  • Peanut Butter Fudge - vanilla with chocolate and peanut butter pieces
  • White Chocolate Raspberry. - white chocolate ice cream with raspberry swirl and raspberry flavored chocolate almond pieces

Fannie May Ice Cream will be available in kiddie, single and double scoop cake or waffle cones, either plain or hand-dipped in Fannie May chocolate; in single or double scoop sundaes topped with chocolate, strawberry or caramel sauce; in ice cream cookie sandwiches; and, in hand-packed take home pints. Additional toppings, such as signature chocolates, cashews, jellybeans, bridge mix, gummies, and sprinkles, may be added to any treat for a nominal charge. Rounding out the menu are "Candy Carnival Shakes," vanilla ice cream and milk, hand-blended with Fannie May's Trinidad, Mint Meltaway, Pixie, or Strawberry Buttercream chocolates to create a one-of-a-kind taste.
