Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) July 12, 2007 -- Voom 411, LLC, a Minneapolis-based company offering live, local, web-enabled directory assistance, launched its testing phase in the Twin Cities market on July 9, 2007. The new service, the first of its kind, pairs standard directory assistance information with live operators who have local knowledge of the seven county metro area and excellent Web search capabilities. Voom 411 will attract mobile phone users who need immediate information, including those who have been frustrated with the poor service and lack of information when using traditional 411 directory assistance.

"Our fast-paced lifestyles are demanding more of us each day," said Chad Gilhoi, president of Voom 411. "Voom 411 is designed to keep up with you and be a source of answers when you need it. Voom 411 provides smart, local and flexible expertise since working with a real person is vastly superior to a cumbersome voice data recognition system or other technology-only solution."

Voom 411 will conduct beta testing from July 9 to August 31, 2007 at a reduced rate. A testing group will call to ask for information including phone numbers, news, weather forecasts, events, restaurants, movies, directions and more. Callers can choose to be directly connected to a business listing or Voom 411 can send them the information via text or email message.

Voom 411 is different from Goog411, Free 411 and cellular phone 411 because it uses live, Internet-savvy operators to handle callers' requests. Voom 411 operators will use optimal Web sites for searching (depending on the topic) to give quick and accurate information. Voom 411 is projected to cost $0.99 per minute; this is less expensive than traditional 411 directory assistance, which averages $1.50 per call. Most calls can be effectively handled within one minute.

"There is building momentum to end the frustration of the thousands of companies using voice data recognition," Gilhoi explained. "We sympathize; live human interaction is a founding premise of the company."

Voom 411 plans to launch to the general public in September 2007.

Voom 411 is live, local, Web-enabled directory assistance. When callers call (612) Voom-411 (612-866-6411) they will be greeted by a Web-savvy operator who can answer typical directory assistance questions and more--like news or weather information. At the completion of the testing phase, Voom 411 is projected to cost $0.99 per minute. For more information, visit http://www.Voom411.com.
