Associated Content Names Geoff Reiss as CEO

Denver and New York (PRWEB) July 16, 2007 -- Associated Content (www.associatedcontent.com), "The People's Media Company," has named Geoff Reiss as its CEO. Reiss will be based in Associated Content's New York offices, where he will oversee and manage Associated Content's day-to-day operations. The announcement was made by Luke Beatty, president and founder of Associated Content.

"Associated Content is poised for significant growth, uniquely positioned to fill the rapidly expanding need for more diverse content thanks to its technology, talented staff, visionary board and dedicated Content Producers."

As CEO, Reiss will be responsible for Associated Content's strategic and operational matters, overseeing delivery and quality of programs, products and services. In addition, Reiss will work with the board and staff to provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of Associated Content's philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives.

Reiss joins Associated Content from ESPN Original Entertainment (EOE), where he was senior vice president/ executive producer. At EOE, Reiss identified and developed new programming initiatives, established a partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival, and created "Ali Rap," a Mohammad Ali documentary that was nominated for three Emmy awards. Prior to EOE, Reiss held several positions within ESPN, including senior vice president, ESPN Consumer Products; senior vice president and general manager of ESPN The Magazine; and senior vice president, programming, production and operations for ESPN.com.

Reiss joined ESPN after the Walt Disney Company's acquisition of Starwave, where he managed the development of ESPN SportsZone, today's ESPN.com and ran the operations for NFL.com, NBA.com and NASCAR.com. His media experience also includes six years at Spy magazine as vice president and general manager.

"With his experience in television production, online and magazine publishing, Geoff has a media pedigree that is unmatched," said Luke Beatty, founder of Associated Content. "In his various positions at ESPN, he has showed the leadership and management skills that it takes to lead a growing Web 2.0 media company."

Reiss graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a B.A. in Political Science.
