Martha's Vineyard is a cultural Mecca.
Festivals and concerts of every kind crowd the late summer and fall season on Martha's Vineyard Island. Visitors never know what well-known artist will show up and perform.
A full entertainment calendar has Martha's Vineyard and Mansion House Inn booming this summer. Goldstein, owner of The Mansion House Inn located in Vineyard Haven, said entertainment options -- such as the recent announcements that the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra (with conductor Keith Lockhart) and Natalie Cole and Branford Marsalis will be coming to the area August 12 -- have kept her company busy.
"What makes the Vineyard so special is that celebrities want to be here," said Susan Goldstein, owner of Mansion House Inn located in Vineyard Haven. "There is a code of silence about who is staying at our Inn or dining at Zephrus Restaurant and the stars know that Martha's Vineyard respects their privacy."
Pointing out that the miles of coastal beaches is an obvious draw, the innkeeper also said it was not unusual to see someone from yesterdays front page walking undisturbed on Main Street in Vineyard Haven.
With Vineyard beauty spilling into the fall, the Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, September 13th to 16th continues to attract filmmakers & artists to Vineyard Haven. Tourist numbers decrease, but the beaches, golf courses, restaurants and Inns remain open. Often the star or director is on site to introduce the film and answer questions.
Whether you are looking up at the night sky or seeing stars on Main Street, Martha's Vineyard remains a favorite destination.
