Penetron -- A Work of Art in Iowa

The Bayliss Park Public Art Project in Council Bluffs, Iowa, relies on Penetron to keep it the focus of the community for decades to come.

East Setauket, NY (PRWEB) July 16, 2007 -- Since 1853 Bayliss Park has been the centerpiece of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and has undergone many efforts to maintain its stature as a traditional focus and icon for the community. Current redevelopment plans enlist the services of renowned artist/sculptor Brower Hatcher who, for the public art component, has developed a comprehensive plan for the fountain, Performance Pavilion, interactive water feature and seating.

The center point of the park is the sculptural water fountain designed to maintain historical continuity by evoking the form of the original fountain while at the same time constructing it so that it is an image of the future. During the winter months the sculptural fountain form would stand elegantly in the space, crystalline in the winter sun or illuminated at night as a beacon in the snow. In summer the fountain form would be activated by a geyser shooting water over the framework, cascading over the tiers of rings into the pool below. Additional water jets and lights would complete the sequenced aquatic display.

"Penetron Admix, which was included in the concrete design elements of the water feature, will both protect the structure from the elements as well as increase its longevity and durability," says Christopher Chen, Director of North American Sales & Marketing for ICS Penetron Ltd.
